With AI presentations, we can produce effective and audience-tailored designs at the speed of thought and catch up to the speed of culture. - Danny Chung, Creative Director, Beautiful.ai

It’s no surprise that AI is revolutionizing presentation design. The smart technology lends itself to faster, more efficient design that makes beautiful presentations accessible to anyone. The shift from static slides to AI-enhanced decks makes it easier than ever to get from idea to impact, regardless of design skills. With custom content generation, fast refinements, and unique visual assets in just a few clicks, AI is changing the way the world presents.

Like any new technology, AI is ever-evolving. As the capabilities of AI continue to transform the design world, it’s important to have your finger on the pulse of what’s new and now.

Why AI presentation design matters

Your presentation is only as good as the audience perceives it to be. The biggest differentiating factor for a presentation that delivers, and one that falls flat, is design. AI-powered presentation design enhances creativity in a way that traditional design methods can’t. It helps presenters break away from traditional, static slides and unlock more dynamic, engaging, and visually appealing storytelling.

Things like smart design suggestions, AI-generated content, personalization, and adaptability allow presenters to create more immersive, meaningful experiences for their audience in a fraction of the time.

We caught up with Beautiful.ai’s creative director, Danny Chung, to learn more about how we can blend AI design trends with what we already know about presentation best practices. He said, “From a communication design perspective, AI has handed the tools of the trade to everyone and democratized storytelling. Now we all have the chance to laser focus on the specialness of ideas and messages — without the burden of craft.

He added, “This matters more than ever in today’s multi-gen, instant-meme culture. With AI presentations, we can produce effective and audience-tailored designs at the speed of thought and catch up to the speed of culture.”

The new age of presentation design needs to cater to multi-generational tastes and working styles, and AI helps designers achieve that more efficiently. It unlocks a way for presenters to connect with any audience, any time.

To appeal to all groups, presentations should be:

  • Clear & well-structured (for Gen X)
  • Visually engaging & story-driven (for Millennials)
  • Efficient but customizable (for Xennials)
  • Interactive & AI-powered (for Gen Z)

Beautiful.ai does all this through a Swiss Army Knife model that pairs personal content, powerful Smart Slides, and generative AI to create impactful results.

AI presentation design trends for 2025

To help you stay in the know of AI presentation design trends, here’s what you can expect to see more of in 2025 and beyond.

AI-Powered UGC: Unlocking More Output with Less Resources

There’s a lot to be said about user-generated content. It’s one of the most influential forms of content in marketing, branding, and community building. Its power lies in authenticity, engagement, and trust—serving as design inspiration and representing different use cases in the market. In presentations, AI enables users to generate custom visuals, copy in any tone or language, layouts, and decks with little-to-no lift. It’s like content on-demand, when you need it.

The idea of UGC in presentation design is that anyone has access to professional-level design skills. This unlocks the ability to increase output without a need for additional resources. With the design support, presenters can divert their focus on the brilliant idea behind the deck.

AI Realism: Closing the Gap Between Idea and Reality

With AI, anything you can imagine— you can create. In 2025 you can expect to see more AI realism leading the charge in design. This is the use of AI-generated images, videos, and avatars that closely mimic real-life expressions, events and emotions. This allows those who aren’t content creators to create more real, impactful storytelling through AI tools. In presentation design, you might use AI realism for testimonials, supporting visuals, customer personas, or presentation voiceover.

“Sure, ‘seeing is believing’, yet not everyone is a visual storyteller. The proliferation of AI realism not only closes the executional gap, but affords many the opportunity to realize the potential (or ill-conception) of an idea at its infancy, oftentimes creating delightful discoveries that would otherwise have been underconsidered,” Chung says.

Adapted AI: Dynamic Presentations That Evolve

AI adaptability is all about optimizing your design. It adjusts your design in real-time based on audience engagement and insights, making it more relevant and impactful. In presentation design, you can leverage analytics to make data-driven decisions and customizations. Is your audience spending more time on one slide than others— if so, how does the design vary? You can take those insights and collaborate with generative AI to optimize your design to ensure each slide is driving the results you need.

AI Personalization: Tailoring Content for Every Viewer

As AI continues to expand, we will see a rise in AI-powered customization for different audience segments. The idea of personalized storytelling, and tailoring content for every viewer, helps presentation designs resonate with different audiences. This could be as simple as auto-adjusting your voice and tone in your copy to reach different audiences, or as complex as personalized images within the deck.

Minimalist Maximism: A Curated Balance Between Simplicity & Boldness

Minimalist maximism is a rising trend that blends clean design with bold, attention grabbing details. It combines the idea of “less is more” with dimension, rich colors, and detail. Design AI makes it easy to strike a balance between the two. We’ll see more presenters take risks with design and venture into safe minimal maximal tension.

Chung says, “When AI has been trained on the rules of “good” design, there are a myriad of ways that it can help bring this trend to life in an informed way. If visual rhythm, color harmony, and typographical balance are built in, ideas have the freedom to be both bold and clear.”

Beautiful.ai’s Smart Slides use the principles of good design as intentional guardrails to ensure simplicity and professionalism in presentations, while AI gives more creative freedom for bold, attention grabbing elements. Utilizing the AI tools in Beautiful.ai allows you to test minimalist maximism through color choice, fonts, imagery, and engaging data visualization without compromising design standards.

AI Hangover: Being Intentional with the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Design

As dust continues to settle on AI, and we continue to toy with the possibilities of AI for design, we will have a better understanding of the risks, limitations, and opportunities associated with incorporating the technology into our own creative storytelling. While fun to play with what’s trending, it’s important to be intentional about how and when you’re using AI to maintain design integrity. Like with anything, there will be design-skeptics and artists who refuse to adopt the new technology. As such, you should keep your audience in mind when designing your next presentation.

“Design trends are cyclical and therefore generational. As AI evolves, the AI aesthetic will evolve. Think about the back and forth on skeuomorphism and flat design just in the last 15 years. The key is using AI design intentionally so as to not be of an era just because it was available. Design for your audience, not the technology and you’ll be less likely to be caught in the hangover.” Chung adds.

Anti-AI Aesthetic: Coming Down to Earth

As symbols of AI continue to evolve and their influence on design culture borders on monolithic, rebelling against the predictability of AI aesthetics can be a breath of fresh air. With a sharper focus on AI, we’ll see a shift away from the abstraction of the idea of AI, and a pivot to more grounded, down-to-earth design. One that speaks less about the novelty of AI design, and more to the message and real-world challenge at hand.

The tools will undoubtedly become more widely adopted and available, faster, and more democratized— and as a result there will be an opportunity to experiment with new styles and use the tools of craft to differentiate yourself from the competition. The anti-AI aesthetic will be a trend to keep in your peripheral towards the end of 2025.
